Ashuelot & Cheshire Rail Trail Local Concerns Meeting 2/4/21 at 6:00 p.m.

Swanzey to Host Ashuelot & Cheshire Rail Trail Local Concerns Meeting

The Town of Swanzey is encouraging residents, property owners, and users of the rail trails to get involved in the planning efforts for improvements to the Ashuelot and Cheshire Rail Trails.  Improvements to the Ashuelot and Cheshire Rail Trails in Swanzey are being funded by a grant through the Federal Transportations Alternatives Program as well as local matching funds.

The goals of this project are to improve recreational opportunities, rider safety, and connectivity. The Ashuelot Trail upgrades will improve connectivity for various government facilities, landmarks, and neighborhoods on the western side of the town while the Cheshire Trail improvements will provide a safer alternative for pedestrians and cyclists traveling along the Route 12 corridor between Marlborough and Keene in the northeast region of Swanzey.

The Town will be hosting a Local Concerns Meeting virtually to discuss this project on Thursday February 4, 2021 beginning at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will provide a general overview of the project, anticipated timeline for construction, and opportunities for questions and comments.  The public may participate remotely over Zoom by going to:
