Housing Resources

There are over 3,000 housing units in the Town of Swanzey intended to meet a wide range of housing needs for its residents. This page provides resources on housing standards, programs, and assistance.

Swanzey Healthy Housing Standards Manual

The Town’s Code Enforcement Officer, Health Officer, and Swanzey Fire Department have worked collaboratively to create a Healthy Housing Standards Manual. This manual helps simplify existing laws, codes, and ordinances that address minimum housing standards by bringing them together into one, easy-to-read document. The goal of creating and sharing the manual is to help educate homeowners, landlords, and tenants about property maintenance in an effort to preserve neighborhoods and protect the public health, safety, and welfare of residents. The Health Housing Standards Manual can be downloaded here.
