The Town’s portion of the tax rate increased based on the warrant articles approved by the voters at the March Town Meeting. All money articles on the Town Warrant passed except for Article 3, the proposed Fire Station project. The Town tax rate was lower than expected due to increased Rooms and Meals Tax revenue allocated in the State budget and a one-time State contribution towards the NH Retirement System.

Properties located in the North Swanzey Water & Fire Precinct are also subject to the precinct tax, which adds $0.63 and brings their total 2022 tax rate to $25.63 per $1,000 of assessed value.

Taxpayers with tax payment questions should contact Tax Collector Kevin Westcott (352-7411 ext. 109 or kwestcott@swanzeynh.gov) and taxpayers with property assessment questions should contact Assessing Coordinator Christine Smith (csmith@swanzeynh.gov or 352-7411 ext. 114).
