Press Release "Eaton Road Motorcycle Accident"

On June 25, 2020, at approximately 1905 hours, Officer Joseph Szuch observed a motorcycle traveling at an excessive rate of speed on Eaton Road. Ofc. Szuch turned his cruiser around in an attempt to stop the motorcycle, but immediately lost sight of it. Ofc. Szuch subsequently located the motorcycle, which had left the roadway and came to final rest in a ditch on the side of Eaton Road.
On scene investigation by Swanzey Police Officers, determined that

Alex Drouin
Age: 31
of Swanzey, NH

was operating a 2001 Yamaha Motorcycle with a juvenile passenger. Both Drouin and his passenger were transported to Cheshire Medical Center where Drouin was treated for serious bodily injury and his passenger for non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, it was determined that alcohol and excessive speed were contributing factors to the collision. Drouin was arrested for felony Aggravated DWI. He was subsequently released on personal recognizance with a July 16, 2020 arraignment date in the Cheshire County Superior Court.  Swanzey Police were assisted on scene by Swanzey Fire Department and DiLuzio Ambulance.
