Reconstruction of Pine Street to Begin Week of September 14th
The Town of Swanzey has engaged Bazin Brothers Trucking of Westminister, Vermont to reconstruct Pine Street. The Town previously hired a contractor to remove trees within the right-of-way that were negatively affecting the road. The primary construction work is schedule to begin the week of September 14th and expected to be completed in November.
Work will consist of installing drainage and reconstruction of the existing road. Initial work will focus on drainage improvements and is expected to be completed by early October. The second phase will focus on reclaiming the existing pavement, graveling, grading and paving the road and driveway aprons and is expected to be completed by late October / early November.
Motorists should expect one lane traffic and minor delays during working hours.
Please note that the recycling center will be open regular hours during construction.
The reconstruction of Pine Street is funded by a $3 million bond for road reconstruction projects approved by voters at the 2019 Town Meeting.
