CANCELLED Got Aliens? Invasive Upland Plant Program Sept. 19 in Swanzey

Is your backyard being taken over by aliens? What can you do about knotweed in your garden, bittersweet choking your shade trees, or autumn olive covering your back forty? Is that new plant popping up an invasive? Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 6 pm, join the Swanzey Conservation Commission and Doug Cygan of the NH Dept. of Agriculture at Whitcomb Hall, Main St. in West Swanzey, for an in-depth look at upland invasive plant species of New Hampshire.  You’ll learn about the latest issues, New Hampshire regulations, and how to identify and help control (or live with) some of the most aggressive non-native plants here in the Granite State. We’ll bring samples of these plants to help with ID. Free.

Douglas Cygan has been the Invasive Species Coordinator for the NH Department of Agriculture for the past 21-years as well as a nursery inspector and an Authorized Certification Official for the USDA.
