The Master Plan is a planning document that guides the character, physical form, growth, and development of the community. The Swanzey Planning Board is responsible for preparing and amending the Master Plan as needed. The Planning Board adopted the 2022 Master Plan update on June 9, 2022. The Planning Board has been working since the summer of 2019 to complete an update to the 2003 Master Plan. The Board solicited community feedback at the beginning of the process using an online survey that received over 400 responses. It is important to note the Master Plan is not an ordinance or regulatory document. However, it does serve as a policy guide that helps the Planning Board, the Board of Selectmen, and Town officials make decisions about the needs of the community.
