Whitcomb Hall Rental

Whitcomb Hall,  located at 17 Main Street in Swanzey, New Hampshire, was built in 1916 and underwent a historic rehabilitation in 2020.  The hall offers two different areas, the 1st floor holds 75 people for your smaller gathering and the 2nd floor holds 115 people for larger gatherings.  The second floor has a beautiful stage and balcony that overlooks the room.  The hall offers a kitchen with a 10 burner stove/oven, tables and chairs, and is ADA compliant.  There also is a nice lawn to hold ceremonies, and a Bed and Breakfast right next door.  The hall is located on a charming New England street lined with ornamental streetlights that lead you to a picturesque covered bridge over the Ashuelot River.

We will hold a date for 10 days while we await the delivery of the following: we require the rental agreement initialed and signed, a liability insurance certificate, a $100.00 refundable damage deposit and at least 50% of the rental fee with two separate checks, and an Open Container Permit application (free) if there will be alcohol on the premises. The rent balance is due 10 days before the event.

Swanzey Resident Rates

  • Minimum 3-hour rental on weekdays, Monday through Thursday.
  • Minimum 5-hour rental on weekends, Friday through Sunday.
  • 1st Floor - $40.00 per hour or a full day at $320.00 (8 or more hours)
  • Entire Hall - $85.00 per hour or a full day at $680.00 (8 or more hours)
  • $100.00 refundable damage deposit
  • 50% of rental fee due at booking
  • $50.00 non-refundable cleaning fee (basic cleaning included; renter is still responsible for removing all personal items and trash)
  • Wedding Rental (Friday 12:00 pm – Sunday 3:00 pm) $1,400.00
  • $100.00 refundable damage deposit
  • $700.00 due at booking
  • $50.00 non-refundable cleaning fee (basic cleaning included; renter is still responsible for removing all personal items and trash)

Non Resident Rates
